Church Street is certainly looking lovely these days. Garish murals, paved-over parks and watermain reconstruction that has turned several blocks into something that looks like a World War I battlefield. Broken pavement, muddy holes, metal fences and the whole naughty secret of our underground plumbing suddenly extruded onto the street. Huge blue pipes snake down the street, flip in the air and occasionally disgorge unspecified effluents onto the sidewalk. It’s enough to make you wonder what you’re stepping in. Tread carefully, my dears.
